Land line or Mobile phone?

As a young child I remember the phone booth, where people queue up to call and reach out to their loved ones and business associates.
The average citizen could not afford a telephone in his home and the telephone booth was one of the few means of reaching out to people some distance away.
At such booths, there’s an attendant who keeps things in order and serve the public.
Such is not the case anymore. No one would queue up to make a phone call anymore, thanks to the mobile phone.

Reaching out to God was indeed like the telephone booth.
People would have to go to the temple to meet the priest, who in turn would atone for there sins before God in the Holy of holies.
Like the land line before the mobile phone, It seemed good at the time until we got a better offer. Jesus literally gave each person in humanity a mobile telephone.

After his death on the cross, the veil in the temple, that very veil that separates the Holy of holies from the people and make it sacred, for priests only.
That same veil was as torn from top to bottom, granting free access to God, through Jesus alone, for all who believe.

With this mobile phone (salvation) we may make calls to God (prayer) as much as we want, as often as we please because it’s pre-paid. Yes Jesus already paid for it with his life. What privilege!

This seems to have always been the plan of God. To reach out and be known by his people on a per person basis. Consider the following scriptures from the book of Exodus.

19:6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

19:17 And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount.

20:19 And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.

Thus for fear of their lives, they appointed a middle man between they and God and rejected their priesthood.

Jesus came to restore the priesthood to mankind,
1Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people;
He came to restore relationships and bid us to tell all people about his mobile phones (salvation).

Unfortunately, we may decide to appoint a mediator in our pastor or priest or church doctrine, by idolising or holding on to doctrine in contrast to the scriptures, or we may go to God through Christ.

We may also decide not to use our mobile phones, by rejecting the salvation of God.
We may decide not to keep the mobile phone charged, for making and receiving calls (prayers and quiet time).

The choice indeed is ours but the mobile phone (salvation) is always within reach and accessible. In fact it has been given to us. Let us make full use of this opportunity.
For how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation.

Avra Kehdabra

Old Aramaic, meaning – I will create as I speak.
From it the magicians coined their favourite “abracadabra”.

I often imagine, when God said “let their be light” (Gen 1:3), what language did he speak? Couldn’t he have used gestures or just imagined things into being? Did he have to speak?
What were his thoughts right before creation?
Did he say to himself, Avra Kehdabra, I will create as I speak. And with the words of his mouth did he create all there is, until he ‘made’ man (interesting), in his image after his likeness.
Man fell short of his glory, yeah, but he was created with God-like qualities. Yeah, that’s right, the quality of speaking things into being.
Gen 2:19b and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
You can’t call a thing without speaking, can you?  And whatsoever Adam called was the name thereof.

The God quality to create as we speak has been given to man, truly to you and I. We are told God speaks of things that are not as if they were. This is not madness or delusion. God knows the power of speech and utilizes it. Do you?
Remember, words can start wars and more importantly can prevent wars.

With the mouth, blessings are said, Gen 48:3-4, And Jacob said unto Joseph, God Almighty appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me, And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people; and will give this land to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession.(emphasis mine).
Gen 9:1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.(emphasis mine).

And curses too, Gen 9:25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.(emphasis mine).

With the mouth Joshua reversed a law God put in place and seized the movement of the Sun Joshua 10:12b—13a, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed.(emphasis mine).

The free gift of God, salvation cannot be obtained without speaking. Roman 10:10b and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

The list is endless, shall we go on to speak about prayer?, setting decrees and ordinances?
I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of the Lord, make the most of this power latent in you. When others say there’s a casting down, rather say there’s a lifting up. When others curse, rather bless. When others swear, praise.

Truly brethren, there is power in your tongue. Let us therefore use it to bless, to pray, to create and bring glory to God almighty.
